As a multiflowered (Multiflora) variety, the Inferno tulip is a plant 40–60 cm tall with a strong branched peduncle capable of forming from 2 to 6 buds. The flowers are simple, goblet-shaped, saturated red in color, up to 10 cm in diameter. Flowering occurs in April–May.
In professional catalogs, the Inferno variety is also classified as a double early tulip. This variety is characterized as mid-flowering, suitable for forcing, including in water, and requiring preliminary cooling at a temperature of 9 °C.
