The variety belongs to the Triumph tulip group. The flowers have a red-yellow coloration with a bright yellow edge and center. The leaves are linear and dark green. The plant height is typically 30–40 cm.

Flowering occurs in April and is classified as mid-season. The variety is a winter-hardy perennial that withstands temperatures from -17 to -23°C. It requires planting in well-drained soil.

The plant is used for flower beds, borders, container cultivation, and cut flowers, maintaining decorative quality in a vase for up to 8 days. The name «Oranje» is a descriptive clarification of the coloration and is not part of the official variety name.
