The Rai variety belongs to the parrot tulip class. The plant has large flowers 15–20 cm in diameter with characteristic strongly fringed, wavy petal margins. The flower color varies from purple to bright red, complemented by green streaks, veins, or a yellow border.
The peduncle height is between 25 and 55 cm. The variety is late-flowering, with blooming occurring in May. Intended for cultivation in flower beds, containers, and for use as cut flowers.
