ActiveVaccinium corymbosum L. · Highbush blueberry
Wagner L. Adam, Boches Peter Stefan, Bermudo Antonio A. Alamo, Brazelton M. David
10 August 2026
The deciduous shrub reaches a height of 1.5–1.8 meters and has upright, vigorous branches. The leaves are smooth, without pubescence, dark green in summer, and turn a red or orange-red shade in autumn. Small white or pinkish flowers are gathered in raceme inflorescences of 5–7 pieces.
Berry ripening begins in the first ten days of August. The fruits are round, slightly flattened, with a diameter of 16–20 mm, and possess a sweet-and-sour taste and a pronounced aroma. The skin is thin, which results in low transportability and poor storage quality, so the variety is most suitable for fresh consumption.
The variety is self-fertile, but cross-pollination contributes to increased yield. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 4.
