The variety was obtained as a result of cross-pollination of varieties BB-5 and SB-1. Botanically, it represents a complex hybrid including genetic material from Vaccinium corymbosum, V. darrowii, V. angustifolium, V. tenellum, and V. ashei.
The plant has vigorous growth and an upright or semi-upright bush habit. The variety is characterized by early flowering and ripening periods. Fruits are large, oblate in shape, medium-blue in color, with a small dry scar, which ensures the shelf life of berries for up to 2–3 weeks when stored in a refrigerator.
The berries possess good flavor, with firm, juicy, and crunchy flesh. Under cultivation conditions in Western Australia, the need for control of fungal diseases, in particular Botrytis cinerea, was noted to ensure produce quality during post-harvest storage.
