The plant possesses an erect columnar growth habit and forms a long stem with strap-shaped dark green leaves up to 60 cm in length. A characteristic feature is the presence of spongy aerial roots adapted for moisture absorption.

The orchid requires high light intensity, good air circulation, and humidity in the range of 70–80%. The plant is thermophilic: the optimal temperature regime is up to +30°C in the summer period and about +15°C in winter. In case of light deficiency, entering a dormant period is possible.
