The compact rounded shrub reaches a height and width of 45–60 cm. The plant has evergreen bronze-green or dark green foliage. Flowering is abundant, occurring with bright purple spicate inflorescences from late spring until the onset of frost.

The variety possesses drought tolerance after establishment and resistance to sea winds. It is classified as marginally winter-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -5...-10°C; in cold regions, it requires protection. Used for bordering, creating low hedges, and container cultivation.
