Variety description

The variety is a densely branched shrub reaching 0.5–1 meter in height. The leaves are ovate, small (4–6 cm in length), have a leathery texture and distinct venation.

Flowering is abundant and prolonged, covering the period from December to April depending on the climatic zone. Pink-red buds form small white flowers upon opening, after which dark purple, almost black berries are formed.
