The plant reaches a height of about 1.0 meters. The pods are large, 14–15 cm long, containing from 4 to 6 large white seeds with a soft coat. The variety is characterized by cold hardiness and is undemanding to soil conditions, while it requires insect pollination and is susceptible to pest damage, in particular, the bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus).
Due to the low position of the pods on the stem, the variety is difficult to harvest mechanically. In cultivation, it is used as a honey plant and a green manure crop that enriches the soil with nitrogen. The seeds are suitable for dietary nutrition, canning, and freezing.
