The variety is the result of crossing the Minica variety and field beans. The seed coat contains about 3.5% condensed tannins in catechin equivalent, and the average crude protein content in the grain is about 24.7%.

Biologically, the variety responds to insect pollination, the presence of which contributes to an increase in the number of beans per pod and the number of pods per plant. The variety is traditionally used as a source of plant protein in poultry and swine diets.
