The variety belongs to the small-seeded group. Seeds contain tannins; the chemical composition of the seed coat includes catechins, condensed tannins, and flavones. The plant is capable of cross-pollination.
In agronomic studies, the variety was used as a reference sample for examining nutritional value for cattle, in particular, for the analysis of protein degradation rate in the rumen.
