The Kasos variety belongs to the small-seeded field bean type Vicia faba var. minuta, known in international practice as tick bean. It is a winter crop with an erect stem; plant height is about 100 cm.

The variety is intended for use in animal feed, including diets for pigs and cattle, and is also used as a green manure to enrich the soil with nitrogen.
