The Gobo variety is an inbred line of faba bean that has been used in breeding and agronomic research to study cross-pollination frequency and genetic characteristics of the crop. The plant belongs to the white-flowered type, lacking tannin, which makes it suitable for use as protein feed.
During field trials, the variety demonstrated high yield compared to control samples. Morphologically, the variety is characterized by a specific distribution of the number of seeds in the pods. Like many other faba bean varieties, Gobo is susceptible to Ascochyta blight.
