The variety belongs to the group of faba beans (Vicia faba var. equina or var. minor). It is used in agriculture for grain, green mass, and in mixed crops for ensiling. The produce contains about 325 g/kg of crude protein in the grain and 205–210 g/kg in the dry matter of the green mass.

In scientific literature, the variety has been used for decades as a reference in plant genome research, flow cytometry, and chromosome mapping (2n=12). Detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety, including precise plant height, maturity groups, or disease immunity indicators, are not presented in open sources.
