The variety is a spring form of common vetch and belongs to forage crops. The variety developer is the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, whose developments are marked with the NS prefix.

The variety is officially included in the state registers of agricultural plants of a number of countries in the former Yugoslavia region, including Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia.
