The variety is an annual plant with a taproot system. It adapts well to various climate types and clay soils, but does not tolerate waterlogged areas well. It shows good cold tolerance, but is sensitive to late spring frosts.
It is used in forage production to obtain green fodder, hay, and silage, as well as a green manure for nitrogen fixation and improvement of soil fertility. It can be cultivated in mixtures with cereals or other legumes.
The yield of green mass is 25–30 tons/ha, grain — 1000–2500 kg/ha. The seeding rate varies from 50 to 100 kg/ha depending on the type of sowing.
