Savagnin is an ancient indigenous wine grape variety, genetically identical to Traminer. It serves as the basis for creating specific wines of the Jura region, including Vin Jaune and Vin de Paille. In local practice, the term Naturé can also refer to a winemaking style, which implies topping up barrels to prevent oxidation.

The variety is demanding regarding soils and growing conditions and is characterized by low yields, but it is resistant to calcareous soils and moderately resistant to frost. Wines made from it possess high acidity and characteristic aromas of nuts, spices, and dried fruits.
