The variety was bred at the Institute of Viticulture and Oenology in Pleven. The vines are vigorous with hermaphroditic flowers, possess high fertility and yield, and are not prone to flower/fruit drop or millerandage. The variety is characterized by good resistance to diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold, as well as to low winter temperatures.

Clusters are medium-sized, weighing 150–160 g, and have a cylindrical-conical shape and a dense structure. Berries are small, weighing 1.6–1.8 g, spherical, and dark blue in color with a waxy bloom. The skin is thin and firm, and the flesh is juicy with a harmonious taste. Wines from this variety are distinguished by their intense color, freshness, density, and fruit-berry aroma.
