The plant is an annual or biennial, possessing an upright and moderately dense habit. Leaves are medium green, glabrous, with an acuminate apex and slightly wavy margin. Plant height reaches 30–45 cm with a width of 38–45 cm.

Capitulum inflorescences are located at foliage level or slightly above. Buds have a brown-purple coloration. Bracts are bicolored, not striped, with a curved shape: the lower part is light yellow, the middle and upper parts have a dark red-purple hue.

The variety is thermophilic, intended for cultivation in containers or open field. Due to large “papery” inflorescences, the plant is suitable for use as a dried flower.
