Hybrid BC 28-11 is an early breeding development of the Zagreb Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops. In 1974, studies classified this hybrid as resistant to frit fly damage.
Comparative analyses of that period noted that the hybrid is characterized by a relatively high cob core content. The grain of this hybrid was also distinguished by lower moisture content compared to samples from other breeding centers. In 1979, the hybrid's seeds were used for demonstration and production sowings.
