The hybrid was intended for industrial grain production and provided a yield increase of 10–15% compared to open-pollinated varieties of that time. It possessed high adaptability to climatic conditions, which allowed for moving the boundary of the US Corn Belt a significant distance to the north.
Currently, the variety is considered historical and is not used in modern commercial production. Modern hybrids of the company, which bear different numerical designations, are independent breeding products and have no relation to this hybrid.
