The DMB 15-70 hybrid is the result of collaboration between Misión Biológica de Galicia and DeKalb AgResearch. It includes the EP42 line, derived from a local Galician maize variety, and a single cross hybrid from DeKalb.
This hybrid is of the flint x dent type and was used in Galician agriculture as a forage crop. In scientific research, the variety was used as a control sample when studying resistance to European corn borer and stalk borer. Currently, the hybrid is considered historical material.
