The maize variety Kb 270 was developed within the framework of Polish breeding institutions, in particular the Wrocław Plant Breeding and Seed Production Enterprise. In the 1980s and 1990s, the variety was widely used in scientific research related to the study of the physical and mechanical properties of grain and cobs, as well as the physiological responses of plants to external factors, such as phosphorus deficiency or exposure to lithium.
The plant was recommended for cultivation for silage. Currently, the variety is considered obsolete and is not included in the current lists of commercial varieties and hybrids offered for agricultural production.
