The hybrid belongs to the grain type and falls into the FAO 300 maturity group. In research work, this hybrid was used to study biochemical composition, including protein and amino acid content, as well as to evaluate resistance to pathogens, in particular to smut and ear fusariosis.
In current national variety lists of some countries, the P 3965 hybrid is classified as an old variety. Detailed morphometric characteristics, such as stem height or the genetic background of parent lines, are not recorded in publications.
