The hybrid SY Corntop belongs to the mid-early maturity group (FAO 310) and forms dent-type grain. Plant height reaches 245 cm. The crop possesses vigorous early growth energy and high adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, suitable for both conventional and minimum tillage technologies.
The plant is characterized by high resistance to lodging and drought, as well as tolerance to helminthosporiosis, common smut, ear fusariosis, and stalk rots. The grain contains 8.8–9.2% protein and 72.8–73.5% starch, while the hybrid is characterized by rapid moisture release during maturation.
