The hybrid XL 380, also known as Braskalb XL380, was used for both grain production and silage harvesting. Research in the 1970s noted its yield performance, such as dry matter yield in silage production at 12.6–12.7 t/ha, and recorded data on stalk breakage and lodging.
This hybrid was used in maize germplasm improvement projects, particularly to study the content of amino acids such as methionine, lysine, and tryptophan. In modern publications, the hybrid's parameters are used for comparative agronomic studies and evaluation of silage mass quality.
