The GSS 5022 F1 hybrid belongs to the supersweet (sh2) type of sweet corn. The plant reaches a height of 180–190 cm, and its ear length is 25–30 cm. The kernels have a tender texture and high sugar content.

The plant possesses resistance to a number of common diseases. The hybrid was also included in scientific studies dedicated to investigating susceptibility to smut (Ustilago maydis) infection.
