The hybrid is a simple interline cross obtained by crossing inbred lines XM 1617 and XM 9923. The plant is tall, with rapid initial growth and good synchronization of male and female flowering.
The ears are large, 24–25 cm long, containing 16 rows of grains with 50–52 grains in each. The thousand kernel weight is 273.5 g, the grain weight per ear is about 230 g, and the test weight is 75 kg/hl.
The grain contains 10.38–10.43% protein, 68.01% starch, and 2.07% fiber. The hybrid possesses resistance to helminthosporiosis, common smut, and Fusarium.
