The Lo1010 line is associated with the activities of the maize breeding station in Bergamo. It is not a commercial variety and is used in experimental crosses, for example, in combination with the Lo1058 line, for comparative analysis of biochemical indicators with local varieties.
In scientific research, the line is used to analyze carotenoid content, including lutein and zeaxanthin. The material is also used in experiments to study resistance to the pathogen Fusarium verticillioides using artificial inoculation methods.
