The line is used as starting material in breeding work. It is applied in research on optimizing Agrobacterium-mediated transformation processes, i.e., the introduction of genetic material.
This line is characterized as a modern elite commercial inbred line. Previously, it was classified as recalcitrant to in vitro cultivation, however, the efficiency of its transformation and regeneration has been increased through modification of the nutrient media composition.
