The line was obtained by the pedigree breeding method based on a cross between lines PHV75 and PHFA3. Methods of self-pollination and selection were used in the development process.
The plant belongs to the yellow dent maize type. The line is characterized by sufficient tallness: plant height reaches 224 cm with an ear placement height of approximately 88 cm. The period to 50% pollen shed is 1516 growing degree units (GDU).
The line is distinguished by high seedling vigor. The primary purpose of the variety is its use as a component for breeding work and hybrid seed production, in connection with which data on resistance to diseases and lodging are evaluated exclusively in the context of combining ability.
