The PH8ER line serves as breeding material for the development of maize hybrids. It is recorded as one of the crossing components in the pedigrees of such hybrids as Xianyu 1141 and Xianyu 987.
Detailed morphological characteristics of the line are not disclosed, as it is an intermediate breeding product. When selecting such lines, performance indicators, lodging resistance, grain quality, plant condition at the end of the growing season, as well as resistance to diseases and pests are taken into account.
