The line was developed by crossing inbred lines PH005 and PHG84 using the pedigree selection method. During the development process, self-pollination and selection were conducted over eight generations.
The plant is classified as having resistance to Goss's wilt and Fusarium ear rot. In breeding programs, the line is used to create hybrids that demonstrate advantages in root lodging resistance.
