The line was obtained by crossing PHG47 and PHG36 lines and belongs to the non-stiff stalk group. The material is used in breeding programs, in particular, it is mentioned in the pedigrees of other breeding lines.
The plant is of the yellow maize type. As part of research work, the line was used to study characteristics of resistance to stalk lodging.
