The use of China aster in flower bed compositions is based on selecting cultivars by height and flowering period, with mandatory adherence to crop rotation for disease prevention.

China aster cultivars are selected for flower beds based on their habit: dwarf forms with a height starting from 15 cm are planted in the foreground and borders, while tall specimens up to 1 m are used for the central elements of the compositions. Selecting cultivars by flowering period allows for maintaining the decorative appeal of the flower bed from July until the first frosts.
When planning plantings, it is necessary to consider phytosanitary restrictions: the crop must not be returned to the same site for at least 4–5 years. Furthermore, planting after Asteraceae, gladioli, tulips, and carnations is not permitted due to the high risk of Fusarium wilt. During the maintenance of the flower bed, soil moisture must be monitored to prevent the development of fungal diseases.
