Crocus L.
A method of growing crocuses in a limited volume of substrate, which allows for control over temperature, planting density, and flowering times through forcing.

When growing crocuses in containers, planting dates are shifted to account for the rapid warming of the substrate; to ensure proper rooting, it is necessary to maintain a temperature of approximately 8–9 °C. Planting depth for the corms should be 10–15 cm, and it is critically important to use loose substrates, such as those with added vermiculite, to maintain aeration.
The technology allows for high planting density to achieve a decorative "bouquet" effect and protects the corms from soil-borne pests. When using this method for forcing, preference is given to specialized hybrids, as botanical and golden-flowered varieties are less suitable due to their biological characteristics and environmental requirements.
Container culture is applicable to both spring-flowering and autumn-flowering Crocus species. This method requires strict management of dormancy and vegetative cycles through the regulation of irrigation and external conditions, which allows for the flexible repositioning of plants after flowering has concluded.
