Nemesia is a cool-season crop requiring temperatures of +15–20°C. Night temperatures rising above +20–25°C lead to forced dormancy and the cessation of flowering; therefore, the mobility of containers allows plants to be moved to cooler areas. The plant is extremely sensitive to water balance: drying out leads to plant death, while waterlogging provokes root rot, necessitating high-quality drainage.

Due to its high growth energy, Nemesia requires weekly complex fertilization, as the volume of substrate in a container is quickly depleted. Pinching is used during shrub formation, and pruning to 1/3 or 1/2 of its height in mid-summer is effective for stimulating a second flush of blooms. When placing containers, it is necessary to consider the heliotropism of the flowers and the plant's need for high light intensity to prevent stem elongation.
