Excessive leaf development can shift the plant balance towards vegetative growth and create conditions for fungal diseases due to poor aeration of the plant.
The level of foliation directly determines the intensity of agrotechnical practices, such as pruning and leaf removal. Proper regulation of green mass is necessary to maintain a balance between vegetative and generative development, as well as to ensure optimal light conditions and air circulation within the crop.
