Variety traits

Zucchini productivity

Cucurbita pepo L.

Zucchini productivity is defined as the potential for forming a marketable fruit yield, measured in kg/m², t/ha, or grams per plant.

In the reference 72 varieties crop Field pumpkin, where this is mentioned in the description.

To assess yield, the mass of marketable quality fruits is taken into account over the entire fruiting period. In intensive technologies with drip irrigation, the crop's potential reaches 70–100 t/ha. Under variety trial conditions, values of 7–8 kg/m² are considered high, with maximum possible values reaching up to 15 kg/m².

Zucchini productivity depends on agrotechnical practices, pollination quality, and planting density, where increasing density to 16,000 plants/ha increases the number of fruits while potentially reducing their size. Varietal characteristics, including differences in the potential of hybrids with varying fruit colors, also play an important role.
