Yield – Soybean

Glycine max (L.) Merr.

A complex indicator of soybean productivity, determined by the biological potential of the cultivar, plant stand density, and seed mass, with actual measurement adjusted to a standard moisture content of 12–14%.

In the reference 426 varieties crop Soybean, where this is mentioned in the description.

The biological yield of soybean is calculated prior to harvest based on plant stand density per hectare and individual plant productivity, which is determined by the number of pods and seeds per plant, accounting for the 1000-seed weight. Economic yield represents the actual volume of harvested grain adjusted to a standard moisture content of 12–14%, measured in centners or tonnes per hectare.

Soybean production yield figures vary in the range of 1.0 to 5.5 t/ha, depending on cultivation technology and moisture availability. The crop is highly sensitive to water deficit during the flowering and seed-filling stages, during which productivity losses can range from 14% to 87%.

Final yield depends on the genetic potential of the cultivar and the alignment of cultivation technology with the biological requirements of the crop. Key factors for managing productivity include the optimization of seeding rates, planting dates, as well as the implementation of inoculation and effective weed control.
