A group of viral diseases of tomato, caused primarily by ToMV, CMV, and PepMV. They manifest as chlorotic mottling, leaf deformation, and necrotic fruit lesions.

The main pathogens causing mosaic in tomato include Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), and Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV). For ToMV, three races (0, 1, and 2) are distinguished based on their ability to overcome plant genetic resistance controlled by Tm-genes.
Symptoms include yellow mottling and filiform leaves; in the streak form of the disease, necrotic streaks appear on stems and fruits. To protect varieties, Tm-1, Tm-2, and Tm-2² genes are used, although the modern Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) is capable of overcoming the resistance of these genes.
