Variety traits

Clementine plant height

Citrus clementina hort. ex Tanaka

Clementine height is an important grouping trait, reaching 3–6 meters in commercial orchards, while being limited to 1.8–2.4 meters in container cultivation.

In the reference 6 varieties crop Clementine, where this is mentioned in the description.

To evaluate the height of a clementine plant, observations are conducted on trees of the same age no earlier than three years after planting, using a sample of at least five specimens. Height is recorded as the distance from the soil surface to the top point of the canopy.

Final tree dimensions depend significantly on the choice of rootstock, nutritional conditions, and formative pruning, making this trait a dynamic indicator rather than a biological constant. During variety trials, the presence of both compact and more vigorous forms is taken into account, which directly determines the choice of planting scheme and maintenance technology.
