Freesia plant height is a key DUS descriptor, measured in centimeters from the base to the tip of the flower stem. The trait varies from 20 cm in dwarf forms to 1 meter in hybrid freesia and is directly dependent on temperature and light conditions.

According to UPOV standards, measurements are taken during the flowering phase and include the total height of the plant together with the flower stem. For cultivar classification, height gradations are used, where low and medium values range from 20–30 cm, while high values reach 70–75 cm and more.

Freesia height is highly sensitive to growing conditions: night temperatures above 13–15°C combined with insufficient light trigger excessive stem elongation. Excessive growth reduces plant resistance to lodging and flower stem curvature, which critically affects the commercial quality of cut flowers.
