The ABHFGOLD variety, known under the trade name Gold Jewel, is a semi-evergreen shrub with a mound-shaped crown. The plant's leaves are ovate, golden-yellow, with fine teeth along the edges, acquiring a bronze hue in the autumn-winter period. The stems have a reddish-brown color.
The plant forms paniculate inflorescences of funnel-shaped pale pink flowers with a light fragrance, the flowering period of which lasts from mid-summer to autumn. The variety prefers sunny locations or light partial shade with moist drained soil; in severe climatic conditions, it may freeze back to the ground level.
Abelia is resistant to pests, but can be susceptible to Armillaria. In ornamental gardening, the plant is used for edging borders, flower beds, planting against walls, and is also suitable for container cultivation.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
