Pylaias is a traditional Greek okra variety. It is a small-fruited vegetable crop, widely distributed in the Mediterranean region.

Plants of the variety show variability in height when foliar fertilizers are used. Seed germination of the variety can be improved by reducing fruit load, and the application of micronutrient fertilizers containing zinc and boron has a positive effect on fruit set and seed productivity.

The variety is genetically distinct from the Boyiatiou group of varieties. In scientific publications, Pylaias is considered in the context of studying the effect of fertilizers and their application methods on the morphological characteristics of fruits and seeds.
