The variety is the result of selection of a spontaneous branch mutation within the Rasta cultivar population. The plant is characterized by small concave, furrowed, and whimsically spirally twisted leaves, dark green on the top and lighter on the bottom. Such leaf shape creates a visual effect of a voluminous chain.
The flowers of the variety are large, tubular, blood-red, and gathered in clusters at the tips of the shoots. In indoor conditions, the plant height is usually from 25 to 70 cm. When propagated by cuttings, the variety fully retains its morphological characteristics.
The plant is demanding in terms of growing conditions: it prefers bright diffused light, temperatures from +18 to +26 °C, and high air humidity. It is sensitive to cold below +15 °C and excessive watering, which may cause root rot.
