The variety is an evergreen perennial with ornamental variegated foliage, having a green-gray color with a wide white border and irregular streaks. The leaves reach 30–35 cm in length and 2–3 cm in width. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and large size.

Flowering occurs in June and July. Flower stalks reach a height of 70–80 cm, lavender-blue flowers are collected in large inflorescences containing more than one hundred flowers. The variety is sterile.

The plant prefers sunny locations but is capable of flowering in partial shade, tolerates drought and calcareous soils well. It prefers rich, well-drained substrates. Used as an ornamental plant for containers, greenhouses, and landscaping in regions with mild climates.
