Duster is an early-maturing short-day onion hybrid with a powerful root system and vigorous growth. The bulbs have a round shape, light brown scales, and white internal color. The produce is characterized by high firmness, size uniformity, and a high percentage of single-centered bulbs, which facilitates mechanized harvesting and packaging.
The plant possesses high resistance to pink root rot (Pyrenochaeta terrestris / Phoma terrestris) and intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae). The variety is adapted for cultivation in southern regions and is intended for sale through the fresh market.
