The variety is mid-season; the period from sowing to harvest is about 5 months. The bulbs are large, round or slightly flattened in shape, with straw-yellow or white outer scales and white inner flesh. A characteristic morphological feature of the variety is the presence of a thick neck.
The produce is valued for its low pungency, juiciness and lack of sharp aftertaste. The variety has limited keeping quality and is highly adapted to the climatic conditions of its region, due to which its organoleptic properties may change when cultivated in other soil and climatic conditions.
