The Bejo Zaden hybrids, released in the late 1990s, were developed based on Indian "Bombay Red" type varieties and were intended for cultivation in tropical conditions. They form small to medium-sized bulbs with a pungent taste.
In North America, a hybrid with the breeder Seminis-Petoseed is also registered under the name «Flare» (PS 81892). Detailed agrotechnical characteristics for both forms are limited in open-access materials.
